Benefits Of Using Screen Printing For Your Products Or Promotional Materials

Blog

Screen printing has been around for a long time, and the process has not changed much because it is a tried and true process that still works well for many different materials. The cost of screen printing is reasonable and can be a great way to print your logo or a message on many different products.

Screen Printing

Screen printing is a process of putting ink onto a surface, using a fine mesh screen made from steel or polyester cut into a stencil of the print. Intricate prints may require multiple screens that allow different ink colors to be printed in different areas of the images to create the complete print.

Some prints require multiple screens set up on a wheel, and each one prints a slightly different part of the image in stages until the image is complete. Screen printing is sometimes slower than digital printing, but there are benefits to it that still make it worth using if you do not need photo-quality prints on your material.

Durability and Longevity

The durability that comes with screen printing is better than many other processes for printing things like t-shirts, sweatshirts, and other fabrics. Because the inks are applied in heavier coats, the ink is less likely to come off in the wash or with use over time.

No print will be permanent and never fade, but screen printing has s longevity that is hard to beat. Many times the material the print is on will wear out before the print does if the screen printing was done correctly.

Printable Materials

Screen printing can be used on many different materials so that you can use one image for a shirt, a sign printed on metal, or even on wood. If you are using the screen printing process for a logo, you could even have a banner or a poster you are using for an even screen printed.

Once the screens are created, most screen printing shops will keep them for you so that if you want to order more prints, they do not need to recreate the screens. Keeping the screens on hand is an excellent way to speed up production, and it means only paying for setup fees one time in most cases.

Cost of Printing

The cost of screen printing can vary from shop to shop, so you will need to discuss the project with the printer to estimate the work. Most of the time, there is a fee for creating your screens, so be sure to ask about that when you are discussing the project.

Printing Services for Home Businesses

Starting my own business from home has been a challenging task. Although I'm working from my home, I wanted my business cards, flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials to appear every bit as professional as those you would find at a company located in a large expensive office. My home printer just wasn't up to the task, so instead I found a printing company that offered great deals for small orders like mine. You may think that printing companies are only cost-effective for large businesses with large orders, but there are those out there that cater to the small home businesses as well. I started this blog to discuss the ways that you can make your business stand out with the right printing services and printed products.
